An art concept for the new headquarter of the Unfallkasse NRW in Düsseldorf

Following the successful artistic design of the headquarters of the Unfallkasse NRW in Münster and Düsseldorf, Samuelis Baumgarte Art Consulting has now also implemented the artistic design of the entrance hall of the new headquarter of the Unfallkasse NRW in Düsseldorf.

The new company headquarter in Düsseldorf-Oberbilk, which was completed in fall 2019, combines the two former locations of the Unfallkasse NRW. The new office property on Moskauer Straße was realized according to a design by the renowned Düsseldorf architectural firm RKW Architektur + Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky GmbH in collaboration with the Essen-based project developer KÖLBL KRUSE.

Samuelis Baumgarte Art Consulting and the artist Stefan Rosendahl from Münster, developed the representative artwork "inner circle" as a business card and carrier as well as mediator of the values of the Unfallkasse NRW.
Since July 2022, six translucent monumental hands are hanging on the opposite end wall of the reception area, arranged as three pairs in a closed circle, protectively wrapped around a stone.

Stefan Rosendahl describes his artwork with the following words:
"Hands symbolize action and sensuality. A circle stands for harmony and protection. The self-contained circle, which is formed by three arranged pairs of hands, thus conveys responsibility and protection. The context worthy of protection remains open and individually interpretable - the circle as planet earth on a large scale or as one's own life on a small scale.

Due to the stone, which is not arranged in the center but at five o'clock, the viewer gets the impression of a circular movement. In the midst of the hands thus lightness and confidence arise.
Life, joy, dance of the forms as well as being carried in a trusting context are the associations, which offer themselves to the viewer with this work of art.

The formal-reduced execution of the hands and the stone form creates a clear and catchy image, whereby the luminosity of the color tone of the hands stands out. Supported by the lighting from the inside - the translucent effect - the artwork creates a special atmosphere in the foyer of the Unfallkasse Düsseldorf."
