AIDAdiva - Limitless freedom for your dream vacation
When AIDAdiva arrived in Palma de Mallorca in the summer of 2007, during her maiden voyage from Hamburg via Le Havre, Lisbon and Barcelona to Mallorca, many prominent guests from the fields of politics, tourism, media and culture were expected on the ship for an official reception. Including the well-known Mallorcan artist Amador, who presents two permanently installed, taller sculptures on the pool deck.
His figures, each 2.60 meters tall and cast from synthetic resin, overlook the entire pool landscape. The sculptures, reminiscent of human silhouettes, are inclined towards each other and convey the impression of a dialogue. With this communicative gesture, the figurative art of the artist Amador ties in with the AIDA concept of a carefree holiday atmosphere, charm instead of discipline and creativity instead of boredom.
Samuelis Baumgarte Art Consulting was commissioned with the artistic design of the pool deck, stairwells, corridors and cabins.
