Art in Architecture - Artist Competitions - Art Services for Public Clients

Art in architecture is an integral element of building culture in Germany. It creates an atmosphere of lingering, communicating and exchanging ideas. It can make a decisive contribution to the quality and statement of buildings. Art in architecture conveys values and contributes significantly to enhancing the image of public institutions. Art unfolds its full attraction in public spaces. Art in public institutions is therefore the expression of the cultural self-image and mirror of the creative gift of a country and thus also a national calling card.

Our artistic design measures are based on an art concept to be created by us at the interface between genius loci and the architecture of your public institution. Regardless of the art form, an open, positive and, last but not least, communication-promoting atmosphere should be created in your art in architecture project. The realization will be implemented and accompanied for you in all phases by Samuelis Baumgarte Art Consulting - from the artistic idea through the artist competition to the implementation of the works of art.

Benefit from our experience in organizing art competitions for your art in architecture project.

Art reflects Architecture

An artistic design by Samuelis Baumgarte Art Consulting is consistently based on the creation of a concept with alternative strategies of implementation. In this respect, the individual characteristics of the project are described and the artistic goal for the design is defined according to alternative artistic positions. On the basis of the concept, the completion of an artists’ competition and the commissioning of one or more individual artists’ designs take place within the context of the architecture.

The artists’ competitions are organised by Samuelis Baumgarte Art Consulting according to section 6.4.2 of the Art in Buildings Guidelines of the German Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs (BMVBS) as a closed competition by invitation. If required, the provisions of the DGNB according to SOC 3.2 can also be taken into account so as to achieve Gold Certification. We have excellent contacts with independent museum directors for convening a possible jury within the scope of an artists’ competition.
